Parnil is Global Brand Director at Unilever, working on the world’s number 1 hygiene soap brand – Lifebuoy. As a seasoned marketeer, Parnil has worked with Unilever for over 14 years with most of her experience being in the D&E world – across functions from sales to brand activations to brand innovations.  

Over her 14 years at Unilever, Parnil has developed a strong understanding of consumer insights and communication development that help towards achieving marketing goals -most of which rest on fundamental human behavior change, for example getting consumers to use conditioner after shampoo, or using a liquid handwash from a soap bar . Parnil has  had successful stints across Unilever’s personal care brands like LAKME, Dove, TRESemme, Toni & Guy.

Prior to her current role, Parnil has also led the sustainability initiatives in the area of WASH for Hindustan Unilever – the Indian entity of Unilever – working closely with the CEO and aiding the prime minister’s Clean India mission with a behavior change program called Clean Habits, Clean India (Swacch Aadat, Swachh Bharat)

Parnil is currently leading the purpose and the innovation agenda for Lifebuoy globally. She is also the Masterbrand lead for Lifebuoy and part of the Skin Cleansing leadership team at Unilever. Parnil leads the largest handwashing behavior change program in the world, which has reached 1 billion lives. Most recently she has also launched a movement called “H for Handwashing”  that furthers the agenda of changing handwashing behaviors

Parnil has an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur (top tier B-School of India) and an Honors in Economics from the prestigious Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi.

Parnil comes from a family of academicians, which have had a huge impact on how she views the world – and while her work experience has only been in the corporate sector , she understands and is passionate about how private players can play a very pivotal role in social good in a sustainable way. This is why Parnil is passionate about how business can challenge the status quo and try and make the world a little bit better, while working as a collective with the rest of the ecosystems.

Parnil was born in a small town in India and she feels privileged and lucky to be part of Unilever, sharing deeply its values of kindness, pioneering work, integrity and inclusion.

Parnil lives in Singapore and when not busy at work , she enjoys painting, indulging in deep discussions with her friends and what she treasures most is discovering new music and dancing to its beats with her husband and her 4 year old son!
